Spread the word: Vote YES on 2!

Election Day, Nov. 5, 2024, is coming up quickly. Use these tools to get out the message that you are voting YES on Question 2 and you are encouraging your friends, family, colleagues and neighbors to do the same. Why? Because a standardized test shouldn't have the power to prevent a student from graduating.

Tips for Getting Out Your Message
  • Take a lot of photos and videos.
    • Photos & videos taken with a smartphone are awesome! Please make a point to take them whenever you are out – talking to people in the community, hitting doors, etc.
    • Selfies are also awesome! As our graphics!
  • Jot down notes from good conversations with people (members, parents, community members, friends, neighbors, co-workers.) Many people will share good anecdotes with you about why they want to get rid of the MCAS grad requirement, make note of them. These are great for social media posts (either video entries or written posts.)
  • Turn the camera on yourself (selfie or video) and share a good story from the day. You don’t have to give away personal details – You can use general terms to share the story. For example, Today I met a South Shore dad who told me his son, who is an elementary school student and suffers from terrible anxiety on MCAS days ….. (This can be done on video, in a graphic or in a written post. There are many options!)
  • Post, post & post again! These can be posts on Facebook, X (Twitter), Instagram, TikTok or another social media platform of your choosing. Reels, TikToks, Facebook posts with photos, tweets and stories (and anything else that we’ve missed) are all good ways to get the word out about our campaign. They are also great ways to be creative in the summer when you have a little more downtime.
  • Please TAG @massteacher & @yesonquestion2ma. We are both on Facebook, X and Instagram and we want to help you get your message to a greater audience. Also be sure to follow us and share our Question 2 posts! You can also share posts in the MTA Grassroots Group at facebook.com/groups/mtagrassroots.
